Beside its basic mission in graduating cadets as officer engineers , the MTC plays an important and a unique role in offering graduate studies in areas not available in other educational institutions in Egypt. The MTC staff believe that the graduate education is a must to increase the scientific capabilities and skills of the graduated officers. These studies update and deepen their knowledge and prepare them to deal with modern technologies and to cope with the future ones. undergraduate
 
Playing a leading role in engineering education in the Middle East and Africa, several African and Arab countries send undergraduate  and graduate students to get B.Sc, M.sc, and PhD degrees from the MTC. The pie chart given below gives the distribution of the foreign students:

In addition to the Military Studies Department, the MTC comprises 32 scientific departments distributed over 6 major schools, namely:

Radar, Rocket Guidance , Communication, Computer , Optoelectronics, Electrical Power, Bio-Medical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, and Electronic Warfare.
